The T2 System Business ModelThe primary components of the system are a connection device made from PVC and polystyrene foam. The plastic connectors hold 4” thick foam insulation in place inside conventional concrete forms. The system can be used with practically any concrete forming method on the market. When using this insulating process with various concrete forms the forming contractor erects both the exterior and interior sections of his forms. As he is moving along he places the plastic connectors and foam panels in between the two forms. When completely formed the concrete is poured between the foam and the inner form. Another method is to use is what is commonly referred to as the snap tie system. This method requires ¾” plywood and 2x4 walers with wedge clips to be used to as the forming materials. This application is best suited for carpenters or “do it yourselfers” who do not own pre manufactured forming equipment. Here the 2x4’s and ¾” plywood can be reused as part of the building materials of the home once the assembly is dismantled. Once the concrete has hardened the forming is removed and the outer layer of the insulation is bonded to the concrete structure creating a highly insulated building. The secondary use of the connectors other than holding the insulation securely to the concrete structure is to attach siding or brick ties. (Please refer to the details on this site for a clearer understanding of how the process works). SLI sells the connection system and the foam panels to the sizes required to accommodate the various forming methods. We can also provide the building materials necessary for the simple studs and waler method (plywood, 2x4’s, snapties). Forming contractors can use the ties that typically accompany their respective methods. The only difference is that a 1” break back is required to break the tie off behind the foam. SLI can provide the window and door bucks pre made to your size requirements, knocked down for shipping, to be assembled on site or detailed instruction drawings that enable them to be site built with local materials and labor. SLI also offers a design service that will provide complete working drawings of the home or building that our customers propose to construct. We can even supply a 3 dimensional computer generated model. Although most communities have different structural requirements, we can have the drawings engineered for your local structural engineer to review and specify changes where necessary. Mission StatementIt is our mission to provide you with the materials and support to build the most secure, comfortable, and energy efficient home or building that we know how to create.
